School Based Programs
Thirman L. Milner Community School Hartford
Built around a strong instructional core, Hartford Community Schools are both a set of partnerships and places where services, supports, and opportunities lead to improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities. Community schools focus on the whole child and family by providing resources to support academic, health and social development. Services include extended-day programming, summer programming, and student/family support services.
Youth referred from the Juvenile Court, Department of Children & Families, and several community agencies receive one-to-one intervention and advocacy within the system. A case manager is assigned to assist youth in their positive growth and development. Case managers utilize strength based strategies to improve family, school and community functions.
Matthew 25 Scholars Program Hartford
The Matthew 25 Scholars program assists economically disadvantaged Hartford and East Hartford youth. We work towards reducing barriers and acclimating the students to Northwest or East Catholic High Schools. The program fosters educational and social success through financial assistance with books, uniforms and referrals for basic needs.
