Hartford STEP/Choice Program
An intensive community-based program, STEP/Choice is designed to be an alternative for youth (ages 12-17) to residential treatment, to facilitate a smooth transition for the adolescent being reintegrated back into their community, and to prevent further involvement with the juvenile justice system. STEP/Choice offers a day reporting program that includes education, structured recreation, community services, case management, individual and group services, employment opportunities, family work, and access to mental health and substance abuse intervention and treatment. The STEP/Choice Program is specifically designed to address the community's need for safety, to hold the child accountable for his/her actions, and to increase the child's competencies to effect long-term and sustainable change.
Juvenile Diversion
Juvenile Diversion Program is designed to support youth 8-18 years of age and their families. Interventions are designed to promote family stability and increase motivation to perform academically. The program offers pro-social interventions that develop life skills, future aspirations, and maximizes the utilization of resources.
Juvenile Justice Intermediate Evaluation Overview

The youth and their families receive support through a strength-based comprehensive assessment designed to recommend the most appropriate level of support within a community based setting.
